Jay (Maika Monroe) is a normal teenager girl, who likes to party and spend time with her friends. Her boyfriend Hugh (Jake Weary) takes her to countryside in a car to make love with her for the first time. But this is more than a sexual act for Hugh, as he is trying to pass the mysterious thing to her through the sexual connection. This mysterious thing is passed to another person just as a sexually transmitted disease. The thing follows the person very slowly in spite of where ever the person is and when it gets the person, it kills the person. The only way to get rid of this is by passing it to another person by sexual transmission. Hugh passes this thing to Jay and Jay is followed by a mysterious thing that wants to kill her.
